I have also had audio problems with a couple of connections and bad scratchy sounds coming from them if a connection plug is moved. This happens on both my PC and MAC BOOK. It has the greatest features and would be an excellent product if there was more time taken in development. I am going to wait 1 yr. And see if they redesign it and make it better but for now I went a bought a VESTAX and it has no problems what so ever but not as many features.COME ON M-AUDIO.REDESIGN THIS AND GET IT RIGHT SO THAT IT WILL BE THE BEST ON THE MARKET.I was really looking forward to using this one. I had to return the first one I bought because the headphone output was only putting out on the left side.
But after that my new one has worked flawlessly! You do have to go into the m-audio website and download the user manual to find out what way you want to set it up. When I first played with this unit I was amazed with all the features it has built it. It has a midi effect that you can use the drag of a finger to activate, or the traditional knobs.
The platters are touch sensitive on the tops (ADJ too!) and pitch control on the sides(ALSO ADJ!) If you don't want to go out and spend $1500 bucks on MK-5's, a mixer and Serato this is the way to go. It has your booth outputs, a master out put and a head phone jack. I have a Macbook 2.0 and it worked flawlessly right out of the box. At first it crashed once in a while but once you get torq 1.5 which is the FREE update from M-Audio it will work flawlessly. The interface is great and is lag free along with the software it all meshes perfectly.
One thing I love about the software is that you can simply hook up anyones Ipod to your laptop and easily search through there library and play and mix there songs. Over all this is a great product and I would recommend to any DJ. I would highly recommend this product, there were no glitches while cueing up the next song like the $99 torq product, nor like all others, did my computer come close to crashing. I have a HP Computer and man, if you just want to walk into an event with just speakers, an amp and some wires and a bookbag carrying this product you will ROCK THE PARTY!!! I have worked with professionals (such as DJ Drama) and this product even he was very impressed with. GET THIS PRODUCT!!!

The screen freezes(2+ Minutes)if you have a large amount of music.so if you don't have a bunch of long versions of songs or if you don't play long versions (5+ Minutes Or More)then you don't want this thing. I would only recommend this to house style dj's, any thing else.stick with Serato or some other equivalent p.s. I switched to the Vestax VCI 100, much better look & feel.
Comments about M-Audio Torq Xponent Advanced DJ Performance/Production System: I've had my XPonent for a few months now, after a few bugs in the beginning (driver updates), the xponent easily became my number one choice at home and in the club. Voip integration tools. The only reason I gave a four was the software it was packaged with isn't very good, I use my Xponent with VDJ and i have no problems at all, everyone in the club compliments it, it is a beautiful piece of electronics, for the price it is definitely worth it!

I have used this MIDI controller as well as other - but I have to say that - in the long run - this isn't where its. I though the Xponent has a bit of a cheap build quality and I didn't like the feel of the buttons either. Save yourself the time and step up to CDJ's or Vinyl right away and learn the basics. For the price of the Xponent you could pick up a used CDJ - and be far more prepared to one day mix in a real club.
The buttons are far too tacky for my liking and I think that the platters also have too much tackyness to them. Overall - not worth the money.
Comments about M-Audio Torq Xponent Advanced DJ Performance/Production System: I have been messing with 20lb turntables for 4 years, and I didn't like the fact that I have to have my car to haul them around with and the fact that I have went national over the past few weeks is going to be hard without a better system and portability. The second I bought it is literally right out of the box plug and play. My custom style of selecting tracks is to open a window off my flash-drive, grab a couple tracks, and drop em in to the Torq program, cue it and press play.
What is so hard about that? I don't want to feel the need of going through a program's browser and try to figure out what the name of the artist is. It takes 3 minutes to do that. I don't have 3 minutes. With Xponent, and Torq along with a MackBook or a PC laptop, getting a track ready only takes 10-15 seconds, especially if i screw up somewhere and play the same track twice. Definitely worth the money Makes me 1.5x better at scratching as well. If you have music on your computer and want to be a DJ, This is the program and hardware for you, all day.

I have used it on my pc and mac book without it crashing, every now and than it locks up but this can be solved by switching the xponent off and on again. I believe that most of the early problems were solved with the upgraded torque software 1.4 as I have had none of the problems mentioned by the previous reviewers. Also it works great with the trigger finger. Comments about M-Audio Torq Xponent Advanced DJ Performance/Production System: Bought the xponent a few days ago. Very easy setup, took about 10 min. After registering Torq, it is possible to download Torq 1.06 which essentially the same as before except that most bugs have been fixed.
Works very well with the software. So far it has been very stable and never froze even after 5+ hours of non-stop mixing. Great piece of hardware/software in the right set of hands. The possibilities are endless. Very happy with the product.

Best thing out there unless you love vinyls then its Serato Scratch live. We use the system atleast 5-6 days a week.
Use it to record mixes no problem. We have it running on a MacBook with 2.16 processor & 2gb ram. No problems or anything. Just upgraded to macbook pro & still no problem. I'm about to sell my 1200 & scratch live to get this. I haven't seen any problems but online there is a lot of issues being circulated. Dunno what to do.

I have been running this baby for a year now and it hasn't given me any problems since I got my new Macbook Pro. It has a 500gb 7200 rpm HD and 4gb PC25300 SDDR. It's compatible with the new version of Torq, Traktor, and also Virtual DJ. The only way to get around not having to make tqd file is to use the Itunes database and make it faster. I also rewire through ableton live to add in extra beats to my sets.
I am a big fan of the xponent but i recommend using an external sound card because its built in sound card is poor, the base can be fuzzy. All in all this devise is cool, but you gotta baby it because it does feel plasticy, but so far i have had no problems with it (other than the sound output). I use it with a macbook pro with 3 gig of ram, and i run ableton live with it and its all good.
